Eggs and coffee for breakfast make happy hydrangeas

Every morning I have eggs and espresso for breakfast. I heard that hydrangeas like the acidity of coffee grounds so I started saving them in a cute container on my counter. I then began to add the egg shells. IMG_4808

During the winter it is too cold to take them all the way to my garden so I put a larger 5-gallon bucket just outside my kitchen door to empty the coffee grounds and eggshells into. That way I only have to head to the garden about one time throughout the winter. IMG_4809

By spring I have a nice batch of organic material to work into the dirt around my hydrangeas. The colors are amazing!
